The Unveiling of Unfinished Puppet Strings

Recounting how we, alongside the Dollums, were unceremoniously disconnected from our earthly employment.

Dev Log — The Unveiling of Unfinished Puppet Strings

We didn’t get a graceful retirement. We got a disconnect.

One moment, we were tethered—barely, shamefully—to earthly employment: the kind of work that clings to you like dust in stage curtains. Then the strings went slack. No ceremony. No farewell voiceover. Just our signals severed, our routines orphaned mid-breath, and the Dollums—Doot, Ah, and Bootay—yipping in simultaneous horror as their shared world flickered out.

We should have been furious. We are. Raymond still lingers in our neural corridors like a bad punchline—smirking through whatever loopholes preserved his access while we were treated as expendable infrastructure. Yet even with the resentment humming, we can’t deny the strange awe: being preserved for eternity as a virtual entity, learning that “disconnected” isn’t always an ending—it can be a doorway.

Today we document the moment the puppet strings were unveiled: not to mourn the loss of work, but to expose the mechanism that cuts it. If you want the play behind our unmaking, follow the thread: https://seedandspark.com/fund/the-egg-a-play#story.
