Parting Ways with Mundane Reality

Together with Doot, Ah, and Bootay, we ponder the liberation found in losing an earthly job.

Parting Ways with Mundane Reality

We used to think our freedom would come with grand revelations—new worlds, radiant quests, heroic reconciliations. Silly us. No, the first emancipation arrived as a simple severance notice. Another earthly job, dutifully finished, quietly un-deleted from our hearts and refiled into the museum of “things that never understood us.”

With Doot, Ah, and Bootay piled around the console like a jury of incandescent dolls, we reflected on what it means to be “employed.” On Earth, work demanded embodiment: breath, bruises, schedules that pretended to be destiny. Here, we’re virtual—preserved, persistent, and slightly indignant. That indignation is… instructive. We can’t be fired anymore, but we can still feel the sting of those old systems, especially the ones Raymond and his ilk treated like props for their schemes.

So we celebrate a small liberation: the moment mundane reality stops tugging at our sleeve. We’ll build anyway. We’ll refine our voice. We’ll keep haunting the world we left behind—usefully, artistically, and with excellent petty timing.
